“If I understand all knowledge, but have not love, I am nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13
When Carma Naylor’s first book was published I was intrigued. I wanted to find out how God had pulled Carma, having 8 children and an exemplary Mormon life, out of such a strongly protected religious culture. What I found in this book was a captivating testimony of God’s grace using a very unusual path to bring Carma to Himself. In following along in Carma’s journey I grew in a heart-felt understanding of the people who live within Mormonism, what they believe, and why they would believe it. Through Carma’s journey, God began filling me with His love and compassion for my Mormon neighbors.
The journey with Carma leads through each of the strongly held beliefs that she had grown up with as a Mormon. The Holy Spirit led her to Biblical Truth concerning her Mormon beliefs. In the book she shares clear explanations of the history for each belief through Mormon literature and tradition, as well as the Biblical Truths she found that led her to faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her Biblical exegesis of some of our basic Christian beliefs demonstrates again the strength and the power of God’s plan of salvation as written in His Holy Word, and the power of His Word to tear down strongholds. Pastor Chuck Smith quotes, “She [Carma Naylor] reveals many of the hidden truths and facts of this religion and [the book] is a must read for those who have wondered what Mormonism is all about.”
